    Enel acquires eMotorWerks to provide grid balancing solutions and tap into US e-mobility market
    Enel S.p.A. (“Enel”), through its US subsidiary EnerNOC, announced today the acquisition of California-based eMotorWerks, a leading North American supplier of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, called JuiceBox, and owner and operator of JuiceNet, an Internet of Things (IoT) platform for the smart management of EV charging and other distributed energy storage facilities. Through the JuiceNet platform, these facilities can be remotely controlled and aggregated for grid balancing purposes relying on unidirectional and bidirectional (vehicle-to-grid, V2G) electricity flows. The acquisition of eMotorWerks marks Enel’s entrance into the US electric mobility market, one of the largest EV markets at global level.

    Enel brings vehicle to grid technology to V2G hub in the Netherlands
    Enel has started the installation of 10 vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging units of 10 kW each to a pilot V2G hub in the Netherlands, launched by NewMotion, a leading European supplier of smart charging solutions for electric vehicles. This project involves the installation, near Amsterdam, of the Enel’s V2G units for a total capacity of 100 kW at private and commercial locations. Other partners in the project are Japanese company Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, which will provide 10 Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid SUVs, as well as Dutch grid operator TenneT.
