LS Cable & System seals 5-year contract with Western Power in Australia
South Korea’s leading power cable manufacturer LS Cable & System Ltd. said on Tuesday it has signed a five-year contract to provide power cables to Western Power Corporation, a power supplier owned by the Western Australian Government. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Enel acquires 21% of Ufinet International, a fibre optic network operator in Latin America
Enel S.p.A. ("Enel"), acting through Enel X International S.r.l. (“Enel X International”), a fully-owned subsidiary of Enel X S.r.l. (“Enel X”), the Enel Group advanced energy solutions company, has signed an agreement with a holding company controlled by the Sixth Cinven Fund, which is managed by international private equity firm Cinven, to acquire, for 150 million euros, about 21% of the share capital of a vehicle company ("NewCo") to which 100% of Ufinet International will be transferred. The latter is a leading wholesale operator of fibre-optic networks in Latin America. In turn, the Sixth Cinven Fund will own around 79% of the NewCo’s share capital.

On June 1, HENGTONG completed the 220kV 3*500mm2 cross-linked polyethylene insulated fiber-optic composite submarine cable (the first batch) for the Three Gorges new energy Zhuanghe offshore wind power project, and successfully passed the pre-delivery test, resulting in the smooth delivery. By virtue of its own diligence and wisdom, HENGTONG has again created a new world record in the submarine cable industry----the 220kV XLPE insulated three-core submarine cable of 27 km without joint.
