    Transpacific Hawaiki Cable load process concludes
    Hawaiki Submarine Cable LP and its technology and deployment contractor, TE SubCom, announced that the undersea fiber-optic cable that makes up the Hawaiki transpacific cable system is in the last stages of being loaded aboard TE SubCom's cable-laying vessels. Hawaiki has been fully loaded onto the CS Global Sentinel, and loading onto the CS Responder is almost finished. Hawaiki Cable manufacturing at SubCom's facility in Newington, NH, including more than 14,000 km of undersea fiber-optic cable for Hawaiki and more than 170 completed repeaters, is complete according to TE SubCom.

    Spectrum set to link up with Tonawanda Island
    After a few years of working to establish reliable internet connection on Tonawanda Island, Spectrum has received the go-ahead to bring its services to the area.  The North Tonawanda Common Council voted last week to authorize Mayor Arthur Pappas to sign contracts allowing the work to begin. The process, expected to start in the coming weeks, will begin with the installation of a cable line under the Frederick B. Durkee Bridge that connects the island to mainland North Tonawanda.

    Enel starts operation of South America's two larget solar parks in Brazil
    Enel, through its renewable energy subsidiary Enel Green Power Brasil Participações Ltda. ("EGPB"), has begun operation of 546 MW from solar photovoltaic projects in Brazil, consisting of the 254 MW Ituverava and the 292 MW Nova Olinda solar parks, which are South America’s largest PV facilities currently in operation. Ituverava is located in the municipality of Tabocas do Brejo Velho, in the north-eastern state of Bahia, while Nova Olinda is located in the municipality of Ribeira do Piauí, in the north-eastern state of Piauí.
