“Rostelekom” will participate in the Olympic Games in Sochi

The International Olympic Committee granted rights to the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and "Rostelecom", as the technical operator of the project «Live Site Sochi 2014", to organize the public display of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 on the grounds of urban celebration «Live Site Sochi 2014" in the cities participating in the project .

During holding the Games in Sochi, the site «Live Sites Sochi 2014" will be opened in Voronezh, Ekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Lipetsk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Smolensk, Sochi, Tambov, Tyumen, Khabarovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk.

 "Rostelecom" has developed a special Internet portal ls.rt.ru for the project «Live Site Sochi 2014, the pages of which, information on recreational activities, as well as photos from all the sites will be available to the project content in all the cities participating in the project.
"Rostelecom " has become the technical partner of the project «Live Sites Sochi 2014" in June 2012 . A unique system of training and transfer content to broadcast lasted from the beginning of the opening ceremony and before their official closing time has been created to display the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London by "Rostelecom " together with the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. During that time, it w handled 5.5 million hours of video total of 33 terabytes. Tens of thousands of spectators watched the most interesting Russian fans, sports games in London for the Live Site venues in 16 cities of Russia .

"Rostelecom" is a General Partner of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 in the category "Telecommunications" from 2009.
Today "Rostelecom" is actively building a strong telecommunications infrastructure needed for the Games and ensures the TV coverage, as well as provides the most advanced telecommunications services to the organizers, participants and guests of the Olympic Games.

Under the project "Sochi 2014" "Rostelecom" will connect to the network infrastructure and provide telecommunications services for 33 different Olympic facilities, pave over 300 km of fiber optic cable capacity of 288 fibers on redundant geographically diverse routes. The Olympic center technologies has already been built and commissioned.
