The 22th World Energy Congress will be held on 13-17 October 2013 in Taegu (Korea) - World Energy Congress (WEC), which is the world's most authoritative international forum in the field of energy, held by the WEC every 3 years with rotation of the venue.
The event will bring together more than 5,000 of the world's civil servants, corporate executives and energy experts from more than 100 countries. It is expected that the total number of guests of the Congress will exceed 25 thousand people
The Congress will be held together with specialized international exhibition of power equipment, technology and services where Department of Energy of the Russian Federation will present the Russian exposition and hold a business program in order to demonstrate the potential and prospects of the Russian power industry, oil and gas, coal and renewable energy, modern technology and advances in science and technology.
Nowadays the magazine "ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and distribution "is the only Russian newspaper, which received the official status of a media partner of WEC-2013 in Korea. English-language issue of the publication will provide information on the Russian power industry participants and guests of the World Energy Congress and Exhibition in Korea.
The general partner of the magazine "ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution "at the World Energy Congress is the Open Society" Rossetti "- the world's largest electricity network company. Information about investment priorities, technology and innovation policy of the company will be listed on the pages of the English-language release for foreign colleagues. This information will contribute to the formation of the foreign partners a more complete and correct view on the prospects of development needs and opportunities of Russian power, which in turn will create conditions for the development of international relations in the electricity sector, increase the investment attractiveness of the industry.
Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea Mikhail Bondarenko said : "The theme of the 22nd World Energy Congress sounds like" energy security today »(« Securing Tomorrow's Energy Today »), and it raises the issue of energy security - an issue that was discussed at such international forums as the G20 and APEC. Korea is 96% dependent on energy imports , and any increase in energy prices leads to additional costs and reduce the competitiveness of Korean products in the global market . Therefore to provide a reliable and stable supply of energy resources is very important for us. Cooperation in the field of electric power for Russia and Korea is one of the priority areas. Reaching agreements on issues of import - export of energy resources, energy equipment, technology sharing construction and operation of energy facilities, as well as improving energy efficiency will create the necessary basis for the transition sectors of both countries to a new level. In these circumstances, the crucial role is played by the exchange of information between all parties involved, that is to provide the most competent and reputable media industry with a broad coverage of the target audience in all categories. I am particularly pleased that now the Russian trade publications such as the Journal, " ELECTRIC POWER. Transmission and Distribution ", reached the highest international level and participate in major international events , providing interested parties up to date analysis on the latest trends in the power industry ."
