The Minister of Energy Alexander Novak met with the Minister of Energy and Business Development in Great Britain

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak met the Minister of Energy and business development of the UK Michael Fallon. The sides discussed the main directions of bilateral cooperation in gas and nuclear fields, as well as in the field of energy efficiency.
One of the main topics of the meeting was the interaction between the two countries in the "Nord Stream" project realization, in particular the possibility of building a 3rd and 4th pipelines. Alexander Novak noted the importance of holding negotiations at the corporate level and consolidating their results in long-term contracts for the fuel supply in order to develop the pipeline infrastructure.
The Gas Seminar is supposed to become one of the problems for discussion in bilateral cooperation between Russia and the UK, as well as the development of the European gas market and will take place in London at the end of October this year.
Also in October, the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Energy Efficiency will be held in Moscow in conjunction with the Russian-British seminar on energy audit. The parties plan to discuss new approaches in public policy to improve energy efficiency, including the recent UK projects, and policy issues in the area of reducing carbon dioxide emissions in the public sector, industry and utilities.
Moreover, today a Memorandum of Understanding on Economic Cooperation in the field of nuclear energy between the UK Government and the State Corporation "Rosatom" has been signed. Alexander Novak noted that this area of cooperation will be given maximum support.
