Flat Cables for Sub-Zero Temperatures
Rated for operational temperatures as low as -65°C, Cicoil's highly flexible flat cables have been designed to provide non-stop reliability in Punishing Weather, Polar Climates, Cryogenic Equipment and Space Applications. Ideal in land, air and marine equipment, these extremely rugged and UV Resistant cables are an excellent alternative to PVC, Teflon, Neoprene and Polyurethane cables that tend to be less effective in sub-zero temperatures.
The deep freeze resistant Flexx-Sil™ Rubber Jacket needs no external conduit for protection, retains flexibility and will not deform, crack or wear due to long-term exposure to intense cold temperatures. In addition, the ultra-durable jacketing material is "self-healing" from small punctures and cable jacket damage can easily be repaired in the field.
Unlike other cables that become stiff and brittle when exposed to frigid environments, Cicoil's unique Flexx-Sil™ rubber jacketed cables are unaffected when exposed to ice, snow, sea ice, vibration, salt water submersion, permafrost, high heat (+260°C), physical shock, operational stress, high levels of UV rays & ozone, de-icing fluids and most chemicals.
Each Cicoil flat cable can incorporate a variety of components including power conductors, shielded control wires, high speed transmission data pairs, video conductors, multi-layer shielding options, strength members and Cicoil's patented StripMount™ fastening strip, all combined in a single condensed cable design, precisely controlling the inner component spacing, jacket thickness and the overall cable shape.
Standard "off the shelf" single conductor, multi-conductor and hybrid cables are available from stock in continuous lengths, cut to order, or as assemblies with connectors of your choice, 100% tested and inspected. For applications that require abrasion and adhesion resistance, Cicoil offers anti-friction coating options by request.
Cicoil's Arctic Grade Cables are UL Recognized, CE Conforming, RoHS & REACH Compliant and are manufactured in an automated, climate controlled environment. In addition, these environment-friendly cables are 100% contaminant-free and exceed the outgassing requirements of ASTM E-595.
Cicoil has been a leader in designing and manufacturing high performance cable assemblies for almost sixty years. The company's Patented Flexx-Sil™ Flat Cable Technology provides high flexibility, extremely long life, and they can withstand temperature extremes from -65 degrees to +260 degrees Celsius. Cicoil's flat cables are used in thousands of demanding applications; including aircraft fuel control cells, semiconductor automation, and the Space Shuttle. Cicoil designs and manufactures its Flexx-Sil™ jacketed cables and cable assemblies in an automated facility in Valencia, California. Cicoil's quality assurance system is certified to the ISO 9001 (AS9100) standard. Visit www.cicoil.com for more information, or call 661-295-1295 to speak to an application engineer.
