Alexander Novak discussed with industry representatives and experts the Energy Strategy draft of Russia until 2035

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting which was taken to discuss the Energy Strategy of Russia for the period up to 2035. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Energy profile of Russia, representatives of key industry companies, as well as the scientific community.

"The strategy will determine the prospects of energy sector development  in the next 20 years. Therefore, this document should take into account all the new challenges: increased competition in the global energy markets, slow growth of the Russian economy in a worsening geopolitical situation, restrictions on access to key technologies, equipment and international capital for Russian energy ", - Alexander Novak said.

During the meeting, the proposals in the draft strategy were expressed by representatives of "ANC" Bashneft ", " Gazprom ", " Gazprom Neft "," Zarubezhneft "," Lukoil ", JSC " NOVATEK ", JSC " NK "Rosneft" , OJSC "Surgutneftegas", OJSC "SUEK", JSC "UES" and JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom". In general, experts welcomed the draft document prepared by noting its correct structure.

"The main objective of the Strategy -is promoting dynamic social and economic development of the country through the effective and sustainable development of the energy sector of the Russian Federation", - the Academician in Energy Research Institute of RAS Alexei Makarov, one of the authors of the document, said. According to him, the achievement of this goal is impossible without the formation of an effective energy policy, including the main areas where tax and customs measures, price regulation have increased energy efficiency.

Following the meeting, Alexander Novak said that at present strategy is  "almost balanced", while the Minister promised to consider and take into account the remaining remarks and additions in order to form a consolidated position of the representatives of the energy industry. Existing scripts of Energy Strategy will also be adjusted in accordance with the long-term socio-economic development, especially in terms of energy consumption.
