On March 5 a press briefing the company "Siemens" was held as part of the energy exhibition in Russia Power Expo Center. The event was attended by the director of the sector " Energy" Andre Petrie , director of the " energy production " Nikolai Rotmistrov . Experts told about global trends in modern energy industry, the prospects for renewable and efficiency of equipment for the production of energy.
Specialists of "Siemens" in Russia noted that the domestic energy sector has a huge potential in the field of production and in terms of energy transfer. Thus , through equipment modernization we have the ability to increase the effectiveness of Russian power as a whole. Retrofitting of power projects plays a huge role , increasing their capacities and building new ones. Illustrative examples are Kirishskaya TPP and TPP N'yaganskaya equipped with "Siemens" .
Speaking about the prospects of development of renewable energy sources in Russia , experts noted the great potential of the north- western region , which has the conditions for the development of wind energy. Caucasian, Siberian and Far Eastern regions are suitable for energy water, and Kamchatka area - for geothermal power plants . However, the effective development of " green energy" is necessary to establish certain conditions , in particular, it must meet the criteria of efficiency and affordability .
Within Russia Power stand the visitors of "Siemens" interested in the products and solutions that the company offers to the energy industry. Technology to generate energy , reliable and efficient transmission and distribution , as well as solutions for the automation of electrical systems have been demonstrated. For example, a model of a gas turbine SGT5-4000F was presented, which will be produced at the new plant "Siemens gas turbine technology " near St. Petersburg . These turbines are used for equipping and modernization of TEC and TPP , as a part of the gas , and in combined-cycle plants , thus increasing the efficiency of electricity generation , reducing fuel consumption and providing a reliable supply of electric power facilities .
"Siemens" presented the project of implementation power lines with GIS (GIL). Such lines are used , if necessary, in the ultrahigh- voltage transmission in a confined space , for example in case of impossibility of using overhead lines . They are able to significantly increase the reliability and performance of networks.
