"Siemens" and "Russian Machines" established a joint venture

The "Siemens" company and Russian industrial corporation " Russian Machines " agreed to establish a joint venture (JV ) . It is planned that the headquarters of the new company will be located in Moscow. Investment will be 160 million euros with the creation of 800 new jobs. "Siemens " and " Russian Machines " will jointly participate in the tender of the Moscow Metro . The authorities of the Russian capital plan to upgrade rolling stock subway and buy more than 2000 cars.

"Siemens" is one of the most successful foreign suppliers of transport technologies in the Russian market . And in the future we want to further strengthen the existing positions in the country. " In partnership with " Siemens " we will be able to offer one of the modern world subway rolling stock . Moreover, we intend to localize the production of new generation cars in the Moscow region and create new promising jobs, " - Siegfried Wolf said, the Chairman of the Board of Directors in" Russian Machines ". One of the criteria for evaluation of the proposal may be the presence of local production in Russia. In case of winning the tender , the partners intend to set up operations in the Moscow region . It is planned that the company will be able to reach the level of localization of up to 80 percent by 2017   with the support of the plant " Siemens " producing subway cars in Vienna.

In September of this year, the partners presented the results of their first joint technical project within the IV International Railway Salon equipment and technology "EXPO 1520». Subway train of a new generation has been designed specifically for the Moscow metro  and is an example of a completely new concept of urban transport , in which the maximum convenience for passengers is harmoniously combined with high efficiency. The concept of a subway car provides increased ride comfort with reduced noise and vibration , the presence of an air conditioning system , increased capacity , as well as a higher level of safety for passengers . Compared with cars that operate today in the Moscow subway , the introduction of such innovative designs will reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs.

The joint venture would be another significant project for the modernization of Russia's infrastructure and the development of local production - two topics that have been raised in the conversation of the President "Siemens AG" Joe Kezera with Russian President Vladimir Putin in October 2013.
