"Rosseti" started the reconstruction of an essential grid element in Sochi"

Experts Group of "Rossetti" started the reconstruction of the airline of 220 kV voltage class, joining the Sochi thermal power plant and a Psou substation of 220 kV. This is the first large-scale work on the line since commissioning in 1969, the modernization of the facility will enhance the system reliability of power supply residents, businesses and the city facilities.

Currently on the track power lines with a total length of over 34 km 13 bases are ready and 12 designs supports have been recollected. In late September, specialists will start placing the assembled poles, and then begin assembling the wire. Line protection against overvoltage and increase of its resistance to weather conditions in parallel with current-carrying wire is mounted ground wire with built-in fiber-optic communication line. It will perform two functions - protecting against lightning strikes, power facility and organizing the communications dispatch, data relay protection and emergency control systems, remote control and other technological information. The versatility of this cable will reduce labor costs in the reconstruction of the line and time of the work.

Crossing over the river Mzimta will be updated in the second phase of reconstruction of the power line voltage of 220 kV Sochi TES - Psou. Reinforced foundations will be installed, as well as one special prop with the height of 70 meters. The completion of all work on the upgrade of power is scheduled on late October.
