The branch of JSC "FGC UES" (part of the group of companies  "Rossetti") - MES South - began to replace six air circuits of 330 kV  with gas-insulated ones on substation at 330 kV Baksan in Kabardino-Balkaria. The works are carried out in the framework of uncomplexed upgrade of power object. As a result of technical re-equipment the reliability of power supply with a population of over 750 thousand people will increase.

New electro-gas equipment is highly reliable, compact, environmentally friendly and long life. Modern examples have a simple design for easy maintenance and allows to carry out repair work without first dismantling the equipment. Furthermore, compared to previously used air circuits gas ones do not require expensive schemes of compressed air preparation.

The renovation program of fixed assets of JSC "FGC UES" uncomplexed reconstruction of objects is an integral part of the investment program and is the replacement of worn-out equipment by means of a sinking fund. Totally, experts of MES South will install 32 gas-insulated substations switch on eight of the southern region until the end of the year.

Substation of 330 kV 250 MVA Baksan was put into operation in 1979. The reliability of electricity industrial city depends on its stable operation, in such cities as Zayukovo, Tyrnyauz ,Islam, Atazhukino, as well as one of the country's largest ski resorts - Mount Elbrus.
