The investment of capital renovation of ore-smelting surface on nickel fabric of Zapolyarny affiliate will sum 1/9 milliards rubles ( 65 millions $)

At the nickel fabric of Polar Division of "Norilsk Nickel" company the ore smelting furnace #2 (RTP-2) renovations was completed. Since July 1, the oven has been warmed up, gradually gaining power. The first matte RTP-2 was issued during the celebration of the Day of Metallurgist - July 19-22. Now the furnace is following the workload of 38 MW.

The main renovation has been carried out from the end of 2011. Works on the refractory masonry hearth and oven walls, replacement of metal frame, renovation of the system boot sector and Flue gas electrode tract were made by LLC "Norilsknickelremont" - a subsidiary of MMC "Norilsk Nickel".

All together four ore-thermal furnaces are used with the RTP-2 in the melting shop of nickel fabric today. They are used for melting metal-containing raw material (charge) to give a matte - a product with a high content of non-ferrous and precious metals
