Energy Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting on energy services in the Crimea and electricity development of ECO South.

After the meeting an action plan has been approved that involves the construction of thermal power plants (TPP) on gas with total capacity of not less than 700 MW unit with a maximum capacity of generating equipment is not more than 110 MW. New generation will be located in close proximity to the existing site Simferopol CHP, as well as in the area of the city of Sevastopol. Moreover, the building of two double-chain KVL 220 kV Buzhora (Anapa ) - Feodosia is planned, the extension of 500 kV Buzhora, the installation of two ATG 500/220 kV (in addition to measures for 500 kV Buzhora planned in frames of the SP OAO "UES FGC "). Also the power grid construction is planned in the Crimea , including a 220 Simferopol - Feodosia , measures to replace the wires , installation of additional reactive power compensation means and other necessary measures . Capital expenditures for the implementation of activities in the Crimea tentatively estimate 71 billion rubles.

Parallel activities will be implemented in basic IES South under scheme and development program UES of Russia until 2019. There are constructions: 500 kV Kuban - Buzhora (Anapa) with 500 kV Buzhora (Anapa), 500 kV Rostov - Buzhora (Anapa) and thermal power of about 600 MW in the Kuban grid.

The meeting presented five options for the development of electric power industry of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city, involving the construction of power plants with an installed capacity of 110-220 MW units:
Option 1: the construction of thermal power plants with total capacity to 722 MW, the construction of two single-circuit 500 kV aerial cable Buzhora (Anapa) - Feodosia.
Option 2: the construction of thermal power plants with total capacity of 807-1027 MW, the construction of two single-circuit 330 kV aerial cable Buzhora (Anapa) - Feodosia.
Option 3: The construction of thermal power plants with total capacity of 697-807 MW, the construction of two 220 kV double circuit waterline Buzhora (Anapa) - Feodosia.
Option 4: the construction of TPP MW total capacity of 1027-1136, the construction of two single-circuit 220 kV aerial cable Buzhora (Anapa) - Feodosia.
Option 5: the construction of TPP 1577-1796 MW total capacity.
Number three was selected as the best option by comparing scenarios for capital expenditures and the total discounted cost.
